The Cabin on Little Silver

Our family of four has been renting summer cottages in Ontario for the past ten years. This year we found Cove Dweller and are so happy that we did. Quite simply, Chris and Guy provide an experience that is second to none. From an administrative point of view, the service they provide is smooth, efficient, transparent and professional. Our week at Little Silver provided everything we could think of and more. The property is impeccably maintained and the cottage itself beautifully designed and decorated. On top of this, Chris and Guy are great people who we feel lucky to have met. It gives us great comfort to know that our future summer cottage vacations spots will not be chosen after hours of searching on the Internet and a roll of the dice. Thank you, Cove Dweller, we’ll see you at the lake!

The Cabin on Little Silver

My family and I rented The Cabin on Little Silver by Cove Dweller in August of 2018. It was one of the best decisions we’ve made as a family. The quality of everything was beyond what we expected. From the first impressions upon arrival, to the luxury amenities included, to the landscaping and waterfront and also the water toys that were supplied made it a week that we will never forget. If you are looking for a high-quality lakeside retreat that includes privacy, on a beautiful property with a luxurious resort like experience I would strongly recommend “The Cabin on Little Silver”. Our experience with the team at Cove Dweller was also as professional and premium as the retreat itself.

The Cabin on Little Silver

My two daughters and I had the pleasure of joining my brother’s family at Little Silver for a two-day visit in August, 2018. When you are a guest of someone else’s at a cottage, you worry about taking away precious space and freedom that everyone wants to have during their vacation. At Little Silver there was no risk of overcrowding. The “cottage” was more like an elegant retreat in a very private wooded area with a beautiful, clean lake at your disposal. There were many quaint areas inside and outside the cottage where anyone who wanted to have some quiet time could easily find a place to read or nap. The luxury of air conditioning during an exceptionally hot summer was one thing that made the experience incredibly comfortable. When you rent a cottage in the summer, especially on a lake, you want to have all the toys that go with a waterfront property at your disposal. “The Cabin on Little Silver” provided just that with a dock, multiple kayaks, stand-up paddle board, fishing equipment and a canoe as well. There is also a lounge area close enough to the water that you can supervise your children but far enough away that you aren’t in the splash zone.

I would recommend this property to anyone who wants a summer getaway that is private and luxurious in a space that would easily fit two families to offset the cost. It is remote yet close enough to the quaint town of Westport, that you can replenish your coolers or fridge mid-week without taking much time away from a wonderful lakeside retreat.

Camp Otty

Each June we arrange a girl’s weekend away and this year we choose to try out Camp Otty. It had just the right amount of room for the four of us and a fantastic view of the lake from both the screened-in porch and rear deck areas. The cottage was very clean, well-kept and for a small kitchen we were surprised to find it stocked with everything we might need. The cottage is rustic but very cute and we loved the open kitchen, living room and dining room layout. The bedrooms although a little small had the most comfortable beds ever, to say we slept well would be an understatement. Only 15 minutes from the pretty town of Perth, we even squeezed in a bit of shopping. A wonderful weekend on all counts.

Camp Otty

An absolute gem of a cottage, on one of the nicest lakes in Eastern Ontario. My partner and I needed to get out of Toronto for some down time. We rented the cottage for a week in mid-July last summer. This little wooden cottage is exceptional and the pictures although great, don’t give it the recognition it deserves. The moment we walked in we knew we made the right choice. Although nostalgic, the cottage is meticulously decorated and well equipped. It sits on a point with a fantastic view and you feel like your miles from anywhere but the lake itself is obviously popular, in a good way. It was exactly the escape we needed and we will be back again for sure.

Camp Otty

We had a really great time at Otty Lake! Booking the cottage was very easy and Chris was happy to jump on the phone answering all our questions prior to our stay. Although it was just the two of us on this trip, you could easily accommodate a family or 2-3 couples. The cottage itself was very clean and well looked after with plenty of space to lounge around and check out the views. We enjoyed paddling the lake, swimming and even a little fishing. I’m not sure if it was all the exercise or the beds, but boy did we sleep well. We will definitely be back, what a fun little place!

Camp Otty

Camp Otty is magic, within ten minutes of arrival you feel a calm, relaxing sensation. The view is amazing and it changes hourly, one minute the waters are smooth and reflective, the next shimmering and active. We watched loons, ducks, geese and even witnessed a kingfisher in action. The owners though of everything not once did we wish we’d brought something, it was already there. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and perfect for entertaining inside and on the deck. Our family of four had a wonderful experience and will always remember the fantastic sunsets. Thanks for an amazing vacation we look forward to coming back to “Camp Otty”.

Deer Run Lodge

Amazing Getaway

Top to bottom, Deer Run Lodge was absolutely stunning. We stayed with a group of our friends along with our young children during the winter and we were blown away by everything that the hosts offered with this accommodation. Beginning with the fire in the wood stove that had been started for us upon our arrival, to the extremely well stocked kitchen, to the comfortable beds – there was obvious attention to detail at every corner. The master bedroom and ensuite were spa-like. There is plenty of space inside and outside, and the property boasted a first-class view of Opinicon Lake. We had a wonderful time and we would definitely return for another stay. Thank you!

Deer Run Lodge

We were looking around for a property to host our parents 60th wedding anniversary this fall and stumbled across Deer Run Lodge, which turned out to be the perfect solution! The house is built of logs and feels massive, it was newly renovated and very clean. It came with many little extras 3 baths (very useful), ice maker, wine fridge, flat screen, Netflix’s, Apple TV, games, kayaks, canoe, fire pit and lots of firewood. We had 10 people staying the night and 18 for the actual dinner celebration.

When Chris said that I wouldn’t need to bring anything in regards to the kitchen, I was a little sceptical. Turns out we could have accommodated another half dozen people. Everything went wonderfully and the lodge proved very comfortable, with ample amounts of seating inside and out with a covered veranda which spans across the entire front of house. The waterfront is absolutely lovely and having a flat area out front was good for watching the children. We highly recommend Deer Run Lodge and Cove Dweller for family celebrations. Thanks to Chris and his team for helping us create some wonderful memories.

Deer Run Lodge

At the last minute, my best friend decided she wanted a cottage booked for her bachelorette and as the maid of honour, I had to find one on very short notice. I thought it might not be possible until a friend suggested I give Cove Dweller a call. We had 8 girls overnight and 12 in total, everything went so well we booked a weekend for next June. The cottage was very clean, newly renovated, nicely decorated, spacious and very well equipped! Best of all we didn’t have to bring anything except our gifts, food, beverages and personal belongings, we just couldn’t have asked for anything better. Dealing with the owner himself was a very nice experience and took a huge weight off my shoulders! I can’t wait to get back here next summer!

A group of friends and I get together monthly in a wine tasting group. A few of us that belong are certified sommeliers and are always on the lookout for new venues to taste our selected wines. We stayed at Crozier for two nights and three days. The property was immaculate, the beds were like sleeping on clouds and the scenery was something from a postcard. I’ve been to various cottages over the years and Crozier is one of my top picks! We are already looking forward to returning.

Cottage lived up to and exceeded our expectations – weather was wonderful, too. Cottage has a great view, is very well maintained and creates a really homey atmosphere with lots and lots of special “cool” personal touches throughout. It’s an adult cottage. Everything you need is already there. A brand-new dock makes swimming, sunbathing and canoeing/kayaking easy. There are a few stairs to climb 😉 Sitting in the screened-in porch or at evening fires in the red Muskoka chairs at the fire pit are bonuses, too. We hated to leave and would definitely love to return.

Crozier Cottage

We hosted the Holistic Rain Yoga and Meditation Retreat at Crozier Cottage in September 2016, and it was absolutely perfect. We couldn’t have dreamed of a more magical spot. This cottage has all the luxuries you could ever ask for, is incredibly gorgeous, and still has the charm of a lakefront cottage. We enjoyed yoga and meditation sessions on the spacious dock, enjoyed a full moon ceremony around the campfire, cooked vegan meals in the well-designed kitchen, and we had enough space to do yoga and workshops indoors. All of the beds are luxurious and there’s even a washer and dryer. The owners are incredibly gracious hosts, leaving the cottage immaculately clean for us with a huge bowl of fresh fruit on the table and everything we could ever need to make our retreat weekend special. We fell asleep to the sound of loons on this pristine lake and were visited by deer and other amazing wildlife. I can’t recommend the Cove Dweller properties enough, they are absolutely spectacular. I will return every year, in fact I’ve already booked another week for my family in the summer. Thank you so much for the hospitality, Chris & team!

Crozier Cottage

This cottage is all about attention to detail. From the moment we drove up I could feel the ambience of cottage life: perfectly placed beautiful red Adirondack chairs surrounding a fire pit that overlooks the lake.
The interior of the cottage is stunning. I was struck by the warm cottage ‘feel’ provided by beautiful decor. There were well placed throws and comfortable cushions placed on the numerous chairs and sofa. Tea lights and candles could be found in every nook. A wood stove with an ample amount of firewood and kindling waiting to be used.
The kitchen had every item in it that one could need for a culinary adventure. Everything from champagne flutes to gorgeous ceramic serving dishes to high end knives.
The best part of this main floor was by far the massive screened in porch that overlooks the lake. Accessed from the open living room, this spacious area has everything that’s needed to relax and unwind: a stunning view, a large ottoman to rest the feet on and plenty of places to set a beverage. The wall between the screened in porch and main cottage also has large windows that can be lifted on pulleys and opened so that it feels like the main cottage and screened in porch are one continuous open space.
We used one bedroom on upper level. Beautiful. It overlooked the lake and had sliding doors to its balcony.
This cottage is perfect. The layout is stunning but the attention to detail will make me come back again.

Crozier Cottage

Amazing cottage on quiet bay
There are rental cottages, and then there is Crozier. The owners have truly thought of every detail and fully equipped this completely renovated classic cottage. Everything is new and high quality. The screened-in porch overlooking the lake is beautiful. Infrequent motorized boat traffic, being on a somewhat remote bay (Long Bay) of Bob’s Lake. Mostly peace and quiet. Kayaks and canoes provided.

Quiet and relaxing!
Just spent a week here with my wife and 3 kids. It was every bit as nice in person as shown in the pictures. We wanted a COTTAGE, which this is. But inside, the kitchen is fully equipped with nice appliances (including a dishwasher) The location is very quiet, which is just what we were hoping for. You can fish and swim off the dock, but a boat will get you to the fish better.

Crozier Cottage

Spent a few nights in June. Crozier is a Beautifully appointed cottage with every amenity and cottage atmosphere. The lake was beautiful, peaceful and calm. We watched a pair of Ospreys on the far shore, listened to the Loons and Barred Owls in the evening. Nesting Phoebes and Chipping Sparrows, Hummingbirds visited on the deck! An afternoon at Sundari Day Spa in Westport made for a perfect getaway.
I would highly recommend the Cove Dweller properties for comfortable, cottage experiences. They’ve thought of everything!

Camp Tumac

Just spent a week at heaven on earth, otherwise known as Tumac cottage! Honestly one of the most enjoyable, relaxing vacations we have ever had. Everything was perfect! You will fall in love with Tumac the moment you arrive and stepping through the door you won’t want to leave. Everything is just as the pictures on the website show. Spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. Many unique and interesting accent pieces give this rustic cottage added charm. Great selection of books to enjoy, kayaks, canoe, awesome BBQ, music, candles and a view of the water from almost everywhere! Great fishing and nice warm water for swimming right off the dock. The loons visiting our bay every evening; and feeding peanuts to the resident chipmunks right from our hand will always be a special memory. Westport is a short and pretty drive and we really enjoyed this little town. Lots of great shops (loved Pinecone) and excellent cappuccino at the Cottage Coffee shop beside LCBO. We highly recommend Tumac! Thank you, Chris, for your warm hospitality!

A beautiful trip back in time only better!

We spent an awesome week at Tumac in late August! A beautiful site with lots of history that has been so tastefully decorated you are relaxed the moment you walk through the door. A wonderful place to re-energize. Early morning paddles in the kayaks, relaxing days spent reading, enjoying the lake and watching the sunset every night from a different vantage point. Ate practically every meal outside, enjoying the gorgeous views of the lake. The cottage is extremely clean and the pictures are exactly as the cottage is when you arrive. Chris and Guy have thought of everything! We are definitely booking for 2 weeks next summer!!

My husband and I just spent a fabulous week at Tumac. We enjoyed the most relaxing vacation in years, communing with nature and reviling in the privacy of this location. The cottage is set among trees which offer a sense of really being “away” from it all. We canoed every day, getting to know the local fauna (including the chipmunks and squirrels, loons, ducks, and other birds, turtles, frogs, fish, and a beaver!), and enjoyed swimming in the clean and refreshing waters of Bob’s Lake. The cottage is well equipped with everything one could want, the furniture and beds are comfortable, and Chris is hospitable and accommodating. We will definitely be back!

We recently enjoyed a week vacation at Tumac. The property was excellent on all counts! Situated on a point in a tranquil bay of Bob’s Lake, we had an ideal time, swimming, boating and watching the spectacular sunsets while relaxing on the dock.
The cottage is very well appointed with everything you need. There were no shortfalls with everyday essentials including kayaks and a wonderful hammock. Linens and towels are new and fresh and the decor throughout was tasteful. The cottage and grounds are very clean and well maintained.
We have vacationed in the Rideau Lakes area and this place is by far the best we have stayed at yet.
We will definitely be returning and have already booked for 2017. We can’t wait!

Spent a week at Tumac on a fishing vacation. Second trip to Tumac this year & we were not disappointed, the fishing on Bob’s Lake is awesome. The lake is large with many bays so you can always find calm water to fish no matter what the weather. We felt at home immediately on arrival, the cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. Lots of firewood for the fireplace & outdoor fire pit. Comfortable beds, lots of seating, wifi, laundry facilities, it’s got everything. It’s certainly perfect for a fishing trip with the guys but this is the kind of place you can bring your wife & kids & they will love it.
Going back in spring of next year. Congrats to Chris on a great place to vacation.

Great family getaway!!
We stayed here with our 2-year-old daughter for a week and loved it. By our second day we were already seeing if we could book in for another week later in the summer. The interior is nicely decorated to give a homey feel. More importantly they have maximized their outdoor space. Up at the cottage level they have sitting areas walled off with see through glass walls which allowed us to feel safe letting our daughter roam, yet still allowed us to enjoy the view of the lake. The cottage is on a point and hence you see lake from many different vantage points. Our daughter loved playing on the patch of beach which also was good for wading into the water. Kayaking in the area was amazing. The outdoor dining area provided great scenery during meals. I am not sure if it was time of year & luck or the fact that being on a point we had more of a constant cross breeze, but there were no mosquitos during the day. We didn’t even use bug repellant until dusk. We would highly recommend this place and plan on coming back next summer.
